Bob Albert # BA1927
He had the car for sale here on Class Racer and listed as S/G S/ST and I called him on it. He said they had won a D-1 Pts meet with it. By the NHRA rules it doesn't need doors because it was a car that came without a top. 1927 Fords did not have tops. Google 1927 Ford and follow the rules. See this line out of the NHRA rules -- Cars without tops do not require working doors. Copy out of NHRA Rules BODY Must be full-bodied car. Coupes, sedans, street roadsters, vans, pickups, sports cars, and panel trucks permitted. Fiberglass bodies permitted. Door hinges on any lift-off door must have safety pins or locks. Cars with top and windshield must have two driver exits. Convertibles and cars that came with removable tops may run Section 7, page 4 Super Street Super Street Section 7, page 5 without top. Tops may be chopped. Cars without tops do not require working doors. Bodies may be channeled or sectioned. Street roadsters, sports cars, and convertibles may remove top and windshield. As for the car that was a convertable it can run with the top removed or down.
