Exactly. No chance either was light. However, NHRA, in the spirit of fairness and finishing the race the right way, should have weighed both cars.

You never know. Sometimes there isn't time to go to the scales and check your weight. Why have scales if you're not going to use them for a heads-up race???

I won a heads-up race in Chicago one time and I knew I was going to be close on weight, so I pushed the car to the scales after coasting as far as I could. My weight was right on the minimum.
