It would seem to me that as 90% + of headers are under chassis and if a collector falls off, it pretty much just slides down the track. The obvious offender would be down swept dragster headers that exit in front of the slicks. Aren't we all being punished for a design that doesn't apply to most. Why not just specify that a tether is required if the collector protrudes out in front of the tire. Not going to win this argument but as a header fabricator who is going to have to suffer with this change, I'm thinking that this is a knee jerk response to an isolated incident.
