This weekend on Sunday Sept. 8th we will be at Magnolia Drag Strip. The gate will be open early as there is a $2500 to win bracket 2 day race there this weekend.
The entry is $100 as usual and it will be paid at the office (near the concession stand) to get your tech card.Spectators will pay at the gate. We will get our usual 2 time trials. We will be out first on the track for our 1st time trial and then the bracket cars will get their one and only time trial. As soon as the bracket cars have their first time trial we go back out for our second one. After that the track will have their dash for cash. We can also run that if you want to ($5 entry fee) and get a third shot at the track and a chance to win some cash. The Buckeye S/SS cars will be out first for eliminations and then the bracket cars and follow that rotation. The time trials start at 12:00 noon.Dave Kinney is currently running things at the track and he indicated to me he likes to run a program with a fast pace.Don't mess around when you are called or you may get left behind. Magnolia will be open all weekend so I'm sure camping there overnight Saturday is no problem. If you want to get in on their bracket race($2500 to win) you can do that also.Entry for both days is $100. If you want in on the bracket race for Sunday only and since we are there to race Dave has reduced the single day fee from $60 to $50 for our racers. See you all there Sunday for our Buckeye S/SS event. Directions Due to construction on Route 800 through October - please follow these driving directions: Route 800 South to Battlesburg Road and turn left. Then, turn right on to Willowdale, then turn right on Westbrook. The Dragway is .8 miles past Bowmont Avenue http://www.dragwayofmagnolia.com/ |

Also, the Tri-State S/SS Association is racing at Quaker City Motorsports Park on Saturday September 7th. It's about 45 minutes or so from Magnolia, so a chance to race twice in one weekend at two tracks not that far apart. $100 entry for QCMP. Thirty cars will pay $1,600 win, 800 R/U, 250 semis and 100 1/4's (third round).

Magnolia is 1/8 mile. I never been there, but have read a lot of positive things about it (nice place, great traction, effecient program).
