The outlet closest to the pushrod is typicaly used for the front brakes on most drum / disc brake applications.
The front piston has slightly less volume than the rear ,but both develoup the same pressure. In race applications I've seen them plumbed both ways and work, but I always do mine as I said above.

We recommend front cylinder to the back and back to the front brakes in the kits we send out.
As Tom says, I too have seen them both ways with equal results. FJ Oh yes, the masters come with fittings that take standard 3/16 lines. |

I have front brakes on the front port and the rear brakes on the rear port closest to the pushrod like the S&W instruction say. Is there more brake pressure on one of the ports? This might be helpful on a stocker with a 2 step to lock the rear brakes on the starting line but I guess could cause some brake bias issues as well? Seems to be working well and the car doesn't get upset when a high brake pressure is applied. Not using a Strange unit, im using a Mopar unit but I do have a Strange unit that will be put into service for the 2014 season.
