Courtney Force's Speed Not Valid

MOHNTON, Pa. -- NHRA Officials announced today that Funny Car driver Courtney Force's speed in the second qualifying session of 329.42 mph on Friday was incorrectly calculated by the timing system which was affected by the angle of the sun reflecting off the VHT into the left lane at the start speed point. Her elapsed time of 4.025 seconds was not affected. John Force broke the track record with his second qualifying run of 323.50 mph at Maple Grove Raceway.

I was always told with todays timing systems this would not happen. But it sounds to me like a line from men in black, swamp gas and light reflecting off Dim Lights back side. Going to have to shoe polish front wheels, Tom

It was in know way a calculation issue

I was a input issue by the finish line sensor

Not a miss read

What a load of crap

They forgot the phase of the moon - they did mention the angle of the sun

I knew it was not correct - we all did

But calculation error NEVER

So the answer to todays question is ---When in doubt , baffle them with bulls''''t. Sounds about right !

I broke out in the left lane at St Louis last week. It must have been the angle of the sun.
