Before most members says its a good thing, be careful what you wish for. I don't like to ban members because of a different point of view, even when it is a little abrasive and insulting. What happens when a few members start complaining about another member because they don't like the way they post, will I be banning more members. This is not a precedent I want to start.

We are always going to have members we don't agree with or even like, buts that's not a reason to be banned

I get complaints about members from other members all the time. I have to look at the big picture knowing we all are not going to get along. I think everyone needs to think about why a member should be banned, there are other ways to deal with members you do not like or agree with.

Rob, your being a little disingenuous comparing the two. The classifieds rules are for fairness. Its a free service for all members and no one member should be allowed to monopolize them. If you make a mistake and email me that is was a mistake, your ban gets lifted immediately. Please in the future do not associate the two.

Well, this is what you all wanted. Its not what I wanted to do, but to keep the peace, I respected your wishes.

Ken,

If instigating, belittling, conceitedness, inciting, or just being a plain trouble maker is good for a well respected web site is tolerable, then maybe you should not have shown him the door. I think that it is much more enjoyable to see threads where friendly banter and helping each other is not only prevalent, but thriving. I don't always agree with everything that I read, but in this instance, you made the right choice (not trying to be biased).

Steve (still my real name)

Saves me from blocking the ''individual'' (being polite here), the contents and spirit (personal attacks) of his posts do not belong in the S & SS forum of CR.

Jeff, I'm not trying to start anything but why are you running a 96" rollout tire in a class that has a 94" rollout maximum?

Randy, the tires are imprinted by the manufacturer at 94 inches and that is acceptable,,,,besides its too hard to measure the rollout when the tire is spinning at 120 mph....................

Randy, it sounds like you are. Calling him out on a public forum, then stating your not trying to start something is pretty disengenious. Ed was pitched for that, you could be next.

just for the record I watched jeffs q3 run from the track web cam Friday morning and it wasn't 20 minutes of down time , yes the safety truck came out and checked the track and stopped at the 1000' foot mark or so for a minute ,then came back and racing resumed ,, from my seat (web cam) there was minimal smoke , I have seen a lot worse from cars that the rings where falling out ,, seams like he got the bums rush ,, but for the first time out and the car was respectable ,the effort is commendable none the less ,,,build on what you did over the winter ,be ready for spring gmonde

I checked the roll-out. One is 93.25, the other is 94; the one on the right which is the side that is pulling. Guess I'll have a talk with Hoosier about that since I bought them from them direct.

Wow. 3/4 inch rollout difference will make your car very unhappy, went thru the same thing with my sons bracket car a while back. Glad to see you're out and running. On a side note concerning 1320's ban, It's no secret I've got no love for the guy but a total ban does seem harsh. Granted he's belittled and enraged quite a few on here (myself included) but MAYBE he just needs a "time out". Honestly don't care one way or the other, but given a second chance he MAY have something constructive to add....I'll stress MAY! Again glad you're out racing and I'm sure you'll over come those first run gremlins. Joe BTW we tried the "stretching" deal on my sons slicks, best we got was 3/8 in. Thankfully, Jegs took them back (even after being run a weekend) and gave me full credit. Guess it does pay off to deal with a company founded by racers.

I have known Jeff for close to 30 years and have watched him work hard for everything in his life. I saw Jeff struggle in his early days, working hard and attending school at the same time. From living in a single wide to his current beautiful home in Anthem, a successful career in real estate and a beautiful family.

As he is with his personal life, Jeff is passionate about our sport and has the same passion when building his race cars. If many just had an idea how much he has invested in his AMX and how much R&D he has done, you would say he is crazy. Nevertheless, it is his passion.

He did not deserve the criticism; many of us have made mistakes and stupid things at the track. However, at the end of the day, we all learn from our mistakes and it is a lesson learned.
