Default Re: Osceola Dragway?

I was told the shut down area is only 1200 feet long. How can they race on the quarter mile with 180+ mph T/D & Q/R cars? I heard about someone who went there a few weeks back and bracket raced their 8.40 dragster and isn't going back. And they were only racing 1/8th mi then. He said the staging lanes were quite small and if you don't get there early to park you'll have a problem. I'm sure they would be trying to spruce the place up but you need a certain amount of acreage to house 150+ 70 foot long rigs and race cars. And no gravel return/pit roads would be nice too...

I was told that parking was extremely limited. I guess we will see.

You are getting bad info. It was just measured by Joel and its just a tad shorter than Martin, also there looks to be plenty of parking.Maybe not if there is a record turn out for a D5 race.

They also have done quite of bit of mowing and even had a professional lawn service come in the past couple of days to ensure that there is sufficient pit area.

Brin Kizer from K&D body shop has the track record at 6.44 200mph and has stoped from that speed without using the parachute.Call him at 269-279-7915 that is from memory so if it doesn't work call information.
