WoW!, your dragging the past.
That was a few years ago. I was there, too for that cancelled race. I was slipping and sliding down the track to a 9.97 run with my V-6 camaro Super Stocker. It should have been a 9:60 something run. I was # 2 qualifier behind the slipping and sliding FE powered Mustang of Jeff Colvert. The owners made a mistake and sandblasted the track with a machine they use in their paving business. It is used to prep pavement for overlay work. They had the complete track ground and the surface is very smooth. I was Race Director for the Hot Rod Drag Week that was held there Sept 2012. The track surface was so good that most of the cars had better times there than they did at Tulsa, Ennis and Memphis. I have several customers that go to bracket races there and they all say they have no problems. Here is the live feed from the Hot Rod Drag Week Sept 14 2012. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mfFQrQdpxk"]Hot Rod Drag Week Day 3 Live Feed Replay - YouTube[/ame] Note the runs of: Jeff Lutz 57 Chevy 700.2 212 MPH 10:45 min in mark Mike Roy Chevelle 7.91 Big MPH 19 min FYI: Mike Roy made several strong 7 second runs Martin Robertson 51 min mark (small tires) Below is the Hot Rod link and the live feed with Hot Rod's comment about the event @ Thunder Road http://blogs.hotrod.com/video-drag-w...#axzz2oGaWn2B7 Watching these cars go down Thunder Road should have put an end to any traction problems prior to that. BTY: That is Brian Lohnes doing a very capable job of handeling the Mic at the track & on the live feed. In his announcing He even comments on the ET's being better there and the Unlimited class times being better. There is good management at Thunder Road & I really don't think there will be any problems with traction when Div 4 is @ Thunder Road.
