Default Re: Six cylinder Super Stockers???

The only inline six I could find that had a carb bigger than a one bbl. was the 250 Pontiac and the Chrysler super six and hyper pack six. A 1979 Volare with a 225 2 bbl. super six is NHRA rated at 155 with a weight break of 19.35. SS/P is a 17.00+ weight break it would be pretty heavy. The 1961 Lancer with a 225 hyper pack six and (I think) a AFB is NHRA rated at 196 and has a 13.18 weight break, a natural SS/L car. The 1968 Firebird with the 250 OHC and Q-jet is NHRA rated at 215 with a weight break of 14.49 a natural SS/M car. The Pontiac and the Hyper Pack were NHRA rated the same as the factory h.p. rating and they look high to me. It looks like Super Stock might be a hostile environment for these six's.
