The guy just agreed to the price and wanted my PayPal info. I called PayPal and they said never give them anything. If they have a PayPal account they can purchase the item. The guy asked again, I said no and that he should give me his address and info and I will ship the item out when money was secure. Never heard back after that.

No, you have it right. The kicker for me or red flag was that he would send his "agent " to get the item that he was to buy, and to forget the shipping and shipping charge. The shipping was included in the price of the item and he didn't haggle the price. Plus he didn't want to give me any of his information for shipping. I DON'T THINK SO! Lol

I have had the exact wording in many text messages about the truck I have for sale on racingjunk. The difference being they would use a different name and different phone numbers each time. Two times the number came out of Maryland and two time out of Michigan. I could not call or text the number back and get an answer. The last time it happened I responded by telling them I contacted the FCC and FBI and have not had a problem since. I hope you nail the persons that are doing this.

That is kind of odd, but if he did not want any money transferred I don't see how it might have been a scam. You would have still had the item and his money would be in your account...unless he put some type of hold on it thru a false paypal site such as I have experienced. If the money is in your account verified by the authentic paypal site it is legit.

He wanted account info. I was not willing to give it. The word agent and no shipping I found odd. If it was a car or something and he wanted to pick it up maybe I would have gone a bit further. Not an item that could be shipped. But no contact info from him. {Scammer }
