Default FFW - S/SS update - Fontana

Fun Ford Weekend will have their S/SS combo again Oct. 19-21 @ Fontana. Same payout as last year. However, they have said that this will be the last one if they don't get a better turnout.

Same as last year Bernie. Test & Tune Fri.- Qualifying Sat. - Elim. Sun. If you could be getting the word out, it might help to get a better car count. Bill was happy with the deal a year ago, it's just that he fell about 8 cars short of breaking even.

I believe the reason turnout was low is the timing of the race. Last year it was about the same time as this year. You have a 4 day Vegas national event the weekend after this race and a 4 day Pomona national event the weekend after that. Trying to get a big turnout of s and ss cars the weekend before two of the longest/biggest races of the year is tough. I will probably be there, but I doubt you will ever see a huge turnout unless the race is held at a dfferent time. I sure hope we don't lose this race b/c it was great last year and you guys did a good job taking care of the starting line.

I know the timing is bad, but just like NHRA scheduling, FFW has to take what they can get. The primary race is the regular FFW Event. Bill just wanted to give the S/SS racers a race with a big payout. I know a big turnout is hard, but 40-50 cars total shouldn't be out of the question considering the location.

Bill told me today that all regular bracket races are open to all brands. You can go to funfordevents.com, click on the "Battle of The Brands" picture, and all the info comes up.
