Generally speaking, something was going down the track , most of the time.....except for the vette that hit the wall....They got it all in and had rain on Saturday. Obviously, it would have been better to get a couple of rounds in Saturday, but the rain hit.

It was great (for a change) to be a Stock Eliminator racer at this event, with the 3 qual's on Friday, and the two on Sat. However, I agree with Bernie that wasn't cool having to wait 7hrs from round 1 to round 2 on Sunday....but it was still nice to be out there playing in the game....

"No jet dryer yet..but it's not supposed to rain in Arizona.
At least now they know they need one.." HUH YAC

Yac, I'll have to disagree again. Seems to me that the desert air will dry wet pavement by itself, even after a thunder storm. The facility is fundamentally flawed because it wasn't designed around a drainage plan, I can understand that too, no worries.

What they need is one of those big suction trucks that my city uses to go around and suck out the debris and water from the storm drain sumps. That would take care of the standing water puddles which, in reality, delayed the start to Sundays activities. The desert will take care of the rest. Driving street cars up and down was pointless.

Gary H, you're spot on, Div 7 never gives 5 Q's. WTF!
As I said to me friends, I would have lost the farm betting that we could have even run on Saturday. The Nostalgia car doing T&T was sweet too !

Should have used the 'LUCK' with the weather to at least run a round instead of another Q hit. Does our DD even think about this, or even watch the weather, he's a professional after all, been doing it for a while now. Ya gotta think out of the box occasionally, or not even care, but he is the man in charge and calls the shots! Dang Gamit, we have 48 car fields for the TOP D's and S's now.

Ya just can't get 'em all down the track in a one day Eliminator, OK ! Can't wait for this years Vegas Fall Div. race !! This is, by far, the slowest Div. to send 'em down the track efficiently. Just say'in !!

OK, I'm sorry for the rant, didn't mean to, but I feel better now, it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me still. DONE !!

I went to a Div 7 LODRS at Vegas while at the SEMA Show a couple of years ago. They had some extra classes I had never seen at a div points race before. Some nostalgia stuff iirc. Took up some time, and it just seemed to take them a long time to run anything anyway. I left there thinking "these guys are sure laid back." LOL

Gary just reminded me..They were supposed to run a round of Top Sirloin or whatever Saturday evening ..which they weren't able to do...So throw that into the mix for Sunday too...

For what the Track and NHRA had to endure (weather) I thought they did a good job. 6 rounds from 3:30 till 9:30 and the track was very consistent for us. The buzz around the pits was the 5Q runs for some with weather pending..

You get 'em Bernie! I don't know why you are complaining, you got to watch all of the NASCAR race between rounds! I think it's time to just stay closer to home.
Barry, it was great that they were able to get the remainder of the race completed from 3:30 - 9:30, but how in the hell did it take 7 hours (10:30 - 5:30)to get 2 rounds of Stk/SS in? I'm sure it didn't feel near as painful for other categories that were getting 2nd & 3rd rounds in between.

You are correct Brett. We waited until 3:30 for first round!

As I recall, Super Comp and Super Gas were to have first round on Saturday, but couldn't because of rain. (maybe Top Sportsman and Top Dragster, also) Regarding standing water, they had a truck sucking up the water from the standing lake behind the grand stands, on the way to the staging lanes.....

It is what it is.....obviously, everyone would like to run, cool down, and run again.....that isn't happening. From my perspective, they were running as quickly as possible with very few oil downs...(less the vette crash)...

All in all, for a scheduled 3 day event to get pushed into 2 days, and run until 10 PM on Sunday.....I am OK with that....others may disagree.

For what it is worth, I thought 4-5 Q runs was excessive....3 is good.
