I raced in Baytown this past weekend. I have the chrome Dynatech headers with a tab and bolt on each primary tube to the collector, and was told I did NOT need the tethers. I certainly didn't read the rule that way. Anyone else see it that way?

I have the same exhaust, with four tabs/bolts, and everything I've heard and been told is that I still need the tethers.

I was completely shocked when I was told that I didn't need them.

I sent an email to our D4 tech director to clarify this. He said I still need the collector tethers.

You can also put a 1/2" long weld on each tube along with the tabs & bolts still in place and you don't need the tether.
If you run any of the Super Classes more than likely you don't change collectors anyway. |
