Guys, we're not building a daily driver here.

Seems to me, it only has to be part way open on the line and then WFO the rest of the way!

If it were me , I'd figure out how much air it would pass, and then decide if I wanted to make it work.

They won't flow much. Very small. Cars that came with them were very slow. A plain old Motorcraft 2 bl, or the small Holley replacement really woke those cars up. It had better have an extremely low hp factor. If you are at all familier with that mess, you know it was an emissions/gas mileage deal that just did not work out. Those abortions were thrown away right and left.
Guess Ford thought it was time for another Edsel. LOL

Was just thinking about that 350 Olds / Caddy Seville I changed over to a Qjet.
The FI system was junk!

That was before I started tuning EFI. Never tried to hack those ECUs. Did, however, have a fix for the extreme lean idle & tip-in issues they developed. A 36" drill bit in a pin vice. The plastic tube to the MAP sensor got a hole drilled in it. They has a rubber hose slipped over one end. Played with that with my 4 gas infrared exhaust analyzer hooked up. Very high HCs, eratic idle and tip-in stumble was common after 50,000 or so miles. First car, I drilled too large a hole, was right next to the runner tube. Just slipped it forther onto the plastic tube to cover the hole. Knew I was onto something just went too rich. Found .036" was good for about all of them. Ran like a different car.
Had other shops ending them to me for 'the fix". LOL

Yep. Still slower than a Q Jet.

Red face Re: Ford 7200 vv carb.

I never heard of anybody that had any success making a race carb out of a 7200 v v.
Last one of those things that I worked on I wouldn't even charge the customer, only thing I wanted was a promise not to bring it back.

That's what I asked of them if they wouldn't let me replace it. LOL
