It was good to hear you had a successful weekend Brandon - we were hoping to find you and Jamie had run off since you are both good friends of ours. Best of luck at Rockingham...but please fall on the opposite side of the ladder than us - ha ha

I love racing at MIR as a lot of you already know! This year the weather was great, and fast as usual.....but the track wasn't! I did notice the burnout boxes were not kept clean, and barely had any water in them! There were rocks and sand tracked from there to the starting line! I approached one of the starting line crew during an oil down and asked him if he could clean up that area on both lanes. He just shook his head and they never did anything during the lengthy oil down clean up! I proceeded to blow the tires off on that run! I've never had that problem there before!! What really sucks is this is during their big event of the year!! No excuse for that!
One thing I really don't understand is why there weren't more Super Stockers than 41!! Especially between Atco pts race and the Virginia Nat'l. Not many NHRA regulars were there in SS! |

That was very surprising to me, as the starting line was well-staffed. They probably could have spent less time trying to direct you perfectly through the water, and more time with a broom.
I was at another big event recently where it was so bad that after I blew the tires off, I marched straight to the starting line, grabbed a broom to push off the rocks and debris. I think the starter's job was to flip that switch, and the burnout box kid's was to spray water. Neither barely glanced at me or seemed to care that I was on their starting line (let alone doing their jobs). More staff was brought in later, and things were fine then.

How about that cat in the water box? He has non stop energy being very comical when he was directing cars in the burnout box, but like you guys said, he never found the energy to do any sweeping. And he got offended if someone else stepped up their to direct their own car in the water box. |
