Any word on how many cars showed for round one of the shoot-out.
They said there were 9 cars there. Both finalists had great running and looking rides. Congrats.

Awesome coverage. Had to crank it to full volume and enjoyed the RPM. I got myself into trouble when the hockey puck on the stove filled the kitchen with smoke. Great job Rob. MB.

Anyone care to divulge approximately how much horsepower these engines are making?

First off the 283s bored and stroked to about a 292 turn about 9200 rpm with a cly head with a 140 cc intake port and a 60cc exhast with 64 cc camber. They are topped off with a 490 cfm carb that makes over 500 hp with 237hp NHRA factor. The 289 fords will not make as much power but have a lower factor of 210 hp. Wilsons car is powered by a 250 hp 327 using the same head and carb as the 283s. If you would put a stick in a AMX with a 290 it would run well to. A big congrats to Ed for getting this to happen. Tom
