The thread size is a 12-28 NF ----not sure if a helicoil is made in that size OR if you do drill it out if there will be enough material left to screw in the helicoil---Comp 387

Post Re: Holley Carb Question

It was a long time ago and I forgot what thread insert I actually used. It wasn't the correct one, but it was close. The screw was forced on and I had to use the hollow version because the insert basically blocked the original passages along the sides of the threads. Don't know if that's legal for class. But it got me by on my bracket car.

Heli coil does sell a kit this size. You can try the high flow squirter screw first they have a few more threads.

AHeli coil does sell a 12-24NC but no 12-28NF---you might try a 12-24 and then run a 12-28 tap thru it see if it works---not sure if there are passages in the side of where the bolt goes thru--you might try the tech dept at Holley or any reputable carb guy to get an answer--Comp 387

Chad

I stripped the threads on the squirter, found a kit from Bo Laws web site and it worked great.
