Default DataQuest

Is anyone using Bartoli's DataQuest hardware? Ours arrived without a USB port, so I'm not quite sure how to plug into my laptop. It has a phone jack where the USB should be, so maybe there's an adapter to buy. Maybe RadioShack? I'm ready to power ours on, but have to wait now. Thanks for info in advance!

Not sure what you mean by arrived without a USB port. It has one built in? USB is only used for real-time viewing of data.

SD card stores runs and is used to transfer runs to included RaceWORKS software for review.

If this is the Main Control Unit, their web site says it has a USB port for playback or run data. It also uses an SD card to store data for transfer to a laptop or desktop. If your computer doesn't have an SD slot, any SD reader for a digital camera card will work. Any SD card for a camera that is 2 gigs or bigger will work, too. They should include all this.

The USB port they mention may link to their electronic dash thing and maybe they changed the connection to something else. I've seen much better web sites.

EDIT: The site says USB for Real Time data display. That would be as it happens during a run on a screen in the car. Maybe you could point a GoPro at it and film the output?

Someone should develop a run time recorder that plugs into one of these boxes and produces a movie of a digital dash with the run data in recorded time for computer playback. Fast foreword, slo mo, all that cool stuff. but just gauges and readouts on an SD card.
