Mickey I don't think they have as many different grades of fuel that VP has. Purple or Blue are the two closest to what we use in Stock/Super Stock. I have used the Blue fuel and it ran the same as VP c-12. I always had problems at fuel check with the color or some other issue that the fuel check guys did not like the Sunoco so I went back to VP. Now that Sunoco is the official fuel of NHRA they might not give as much hassle at fuel check.

I Have used Sunocco Purple for years in my Max Wedge with 11 to 1 compression and never had it fail. I get a barrell delivered to my house when I need it.

Right now Sunoco has no replacement for C11, from what I have heard comp pro stock and prostock MC will have to run Sunoco and late season testing has not been good. Will know after PRI if VP will have there own contingency out side of NHRA. Tom

my understanding is Comp can run either VP or Sunoco fuels---Pro Stock Car & Pro Stock Motorcycle must run Sunoco fuel --- Sunoco fuels are mandatory only in those 2 classes--- that's unless things have changed --
as far s C-11 go to the website smithtex.com they break down many popular racing gasolines as to their characteristics so you might be able to clarify what is C-11 in the Sunoco line up=== otherwise I would contact Sunoco ask them what is their equivalent to C-11 FED387 |

Hi Lane,
Another reason I'm glad I moved to metro Phoenix....Purple at the Love's Gas Station, across I-10 from Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, is $7.49 a gallon, and I've been using it since I found out the gas station sold it...at the pump no less!!!! ![]()

All stock/superstock can still use VP, no reason to be in a hurry to switch.
