Smile Re: Question about crate motor stockers for a newbie

Crate motor stock is a great place to start especially with a car that does not have a real good natural combo to run. We run a 1972 Maverick in L/CM with the 215 - 240hp 302 which is the Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer engine. The 270 - 250 hp 302 is also a good combo that we run in a 1985 Capri in M/CM. Any machine shop that understands stock can get you on track with a crate motor. We use Bullet cams, edelbrock performer RPM airgap manifold and a 3310 Holley carb. Good luck and welcome to Stock.
