Great news! IHRA national event for 2009. Will be contested 1/8 mile. The Tedesco family has been and is working hard to make their facility worthy of this. Way to go!!!!

It'll be interesting to see how spectators in the North support an 1/8th mile event... but I believe the ADRL race at Norwalk went well!
I'll be there. Looking forward to it. Great track, great people.

I think that is good news for IHRA. I personally feel more, or new fans could understand handicap sportsman racing if they see the finish line right in front of them, or closer to them as opposed to looking down at the top end of the track and just listening to the announcer. If they can see what the announcer is talking about, I believe it will go a long way in growing the sport. I look forward to seeing a TF or NFC run the 1/8th as well.
