Cool Re: Lakeland Drag Strip Open

Sean they have realy cleaned up the place and have have nice pit parking,You sould give them a chance I am sure you will not be upset...........they made the track wider by 6 foot new score boards and timing, Its not the joke it was like I said I ran the same numbers as I did in reynolds and atlanta.

Jeremy;

Who is operating the track and promoting the races there now? I would assume that Roy Spiker still owns the property. I know a couple of years ago he had a man running it for him (I believe his name was Randy) and was just sitting on the property until an interested buyer came along. After Randy (again, I think that was his name) gave up on running the place, Roy supposedly got Gene Germany (former S/ST and H/R racer) to run it for him, but I guess that didn't last too long.

Sean's concern about tech and safety are legit. I think most everyone in Fla. has heard some type of horor story about the place in the last few years. I know I have, but with the right operator running the place it may be something to attract the interest of the racers from Fla. that post on this site.
