Marvin,

I use cork on one side & scraper with Ultra gray on both sides, on the other... Attach the scraper to the block first with a good thin bead , hold down over-night with oil pan bolts ...Make sure you rotate crank to be sure you have enough clearance & nothing is hitting ? Also, trim any extra Ultra gray stuff away and do the top edge of scraper and tighten down pan with another good bead of Ultra ... This is what I do on my Pontiac engines... Hope this helps...
