Play semantics or call it what you want. The boys running the 9.60's are definitely fast but they have to step it up to run 9.50's and so far McClanahan is the man with the golden number. It's there for the taking. So step right up!

Sorensen's Camaro can go as fast as it needs to. I'm a die-hard Mopar guy, but I don't think Little, Shaul, Hagberg, Wann, Hill, etc., can run with that 427.

I was told by someone who would know that Joe and Hal have been running a 396 lately. Not saying it is any slower than the 427.
I'd be fairly surprised if Bobby DeArmond was not able to step up and run deep in the nine second zone in A/SA if necessary.

This was at the Vegas National in October.. Standing on the starting to watch two Heavy hitters go at it. Hell of a race! Sorenson and DeFrank are very fast in any class they are in. I am pretty sure that Sorenson was running a 396

Lots of fast A/S cars I would also say Brett McFarland is very fast in that 68 camaro . And I know caleb can go deep in the 9's if he had too!! I think that a shoot out somewhere would be very cool . I can't wait to get mine done!

Don Little ( when he runs his car with the HEMI ) and Steve Calabro with the 69 Corvette.

The Sorensens! I've been watching them since I first started racing Stock. They know what they are doing for sure. I too am a Mopar guy but that is one beautiful Camaro. Many of us were glad when they started racing Super Stock but now it seems like they're back! Oh well, they're nice guys...

Given Bobby's successes, he would be on the short list for the fastest of these cars. I can not speak for him but I gather that he is very happy to compete at select races since he retired. He was the first in the 9's at sea level and also set the AA/SA record a few years ago. But, as he is fond of saying, "drag racing is an addiction for which there is no known cure." He may be out there laying down 9.50's this spring.

I think Chris Howes ran some 10.0s at B weight with his Hemi Challanger. He could be a player if he comes back out in A.
