I know there is no mysterious formula for this, but I am trying to figure if I need a 7inch convertor.
This is a SS/AS car
Probably so.
Cubic inch? stroke?

If you are turning 9k then 5.5 to 6k is way to tight. I am guessing the converter was not built for your current combo? Call the shop with the SN and we can check the build specs and tell you if there is room to loosen it up. If you do need a 7 in we will tell you that too even tho we don't sell them. A1 is a good choice for a 7 inch product for sure.

I did not mean to imply there is anything wrong with ATI convertors, I have won many rounds and a few races with this convertor, this convertor is really consistent, that is the reason I am looking for some info on convertors as I don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Yes this convertor was built for another combination but it was returned and restalled for this combination

ATI builds a great product, I absolutely would use them again.

Let me change that opinion to "probably not"

I would think it should be at least in the 6600-6800 range.
