I wonder how many racers know that there was semi final contingency? At the Columbus Sportnats,I was the only racer that asked for the form. It took the NHRA crew there 45 minutes to come up with form after they initially told me they new nothing about it!!

Never heard of this...............................where is the list of who pay for semis? Gotta be one of the biggest secrets out there. I can see why, look at all the saved money. Is this just a national thing or do points races pay out also? Guess I have missed out on a few bucks over the past 30 years.

Charlie, go to NHRA Racer, then contingency section and select the National event, it pulls up an excel file of the contingency payouts, including the sponsors who pay for semis. Last year was the first year in recent past that it's been that way.
