The Ballstud Hemi engine that was supposed to be put in production in both 400 and 440 cu. in. displacements in 1972 but cancelled thanks to the "clean air" fanatics (not that I'm opposed to breathing clean air and drinking clean (filtered) water) in Washington, D.C. and their (drastic) emissions reductions requirements for automakers by 1975 ultimatum. You can thank Richard Nixon's administration for creating this EPA monster on December 2, 1970.* To paraphrase Rush Limbaugh from about twenty years ago: "The environmental movement is the new home of marxism/communism/socialism.
