Pomona and Gainesville are owned by nhra and yes they have control of food prices at national events. I paid $9.50 for a McDonald's big Mac at Atlanta when McDonald's used to be a vendor.

For some reason, the Gainesville community has always been somewhat offensive on prices. Track prices are just what they are. Almost all major sporting events are elevated. Just part of the package. The motel/hotel stuff seems over the top. I know if you go to a Saints game, the price is higher than here, and the beer is really high. Just my .02

It seems to me that it is cheaper to enter a car and park in the pits....than pay general admission. We have never done that, but I believe it is probable.

Go to Brainerd Minnesota and see what a motel costs there at the nationals, its just plain crazy, $200.00 to $300.00 hundred a night at a super 8, I don't know about the food there though...

Good morning! We are ready for qualifying and class today. The schedule shows 2 qualifying runs, then class. But the weather is not looking good after 2 this afternoon, so that may change. Right now it is 69 and cloudy. We did not get any rain overnight or the fog that it was calling for this morning. Rain is in the forecast for this afternoon, but just showers. Just waiting for the call to "Come on up!"
