Was told my Ed Quay tie-rod set for my 83' Camaro was illegal at the 2005 Joliet national event. They said have those off the car at the next race. Never took them off.

Stock or S/S? Just wondering because you do not show up on either 2005 Joliet qualifying sheet.

Tracy Reeder drove my car at that race. I was on leave to see it run and went through tech with it. Glad I could make your day Derby. You had the red 3rd gen Camaro around that time correct? For some reason they announced my name when the car came up to the line even though I wasnt on the tech card.

Cool Re: Lobby for aftermarket strut rods for stock

If you feel that strongly about using aftermarket stuts, just use 'em. Just put them on and run 'em. ( I'd keep the stock ones in the trailer, just in case.) But stop whining like a chick, keep your mouth shut, and put them on. In the true spirit of Stock Eliminator Racing - HIDE THEM - paint them chassis black, put grease on them, ...whatever... In the meantime, Travis explained how to apply for approval....so write your letter.

After the Stealy engine needed freshening I brought the car minus engine to El Paso and cleaned it up, painted it orange and dropped in a 385 SB. Its sitting in my garage for the moment. Guess we will have to travel a bit to race with our track in San Antonio closed. Got a new 305 rotating assembly and the Stealy heads waiting for assembly. Tracy has run my old 75' Camaro as a 305 2bbl or something to that effect, but no longer class races. I agree with Jim, just run the stuff and bring the stock ones with in case something is said.
