Default Re: 5.0 Ford CFI automatic combo in stock

I ran that setup in my 84 Mustang as a bracket car for about 6 years.
I believe it is rated at 205 HP for stock right now.

You might be able to run it in IHRA pure stock, but I really don't think you can get it fast enough to run an EFI class right now. It needs to be rated at about 165-175 to make it competitive enough to do that.

The quickest I ever went with that combo was 13.42 and that was in killer air in November. That was also using an AOD. I put a street type C-4 in it and it didn't go any faster. I neber could find anyone to upgrade the computer for the CFI. The biggest performance gain I got was putting on an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Jacking up the fuel pressure to where it almost would not idle gave it 1.5 tenths.

If you want more info, let me know and I can email you.
