Yeah I have some proud papa in me. We have put in a lot of time and effort into this program. What most people don't know is that Drew went back to school, combination of online and actual classroom, and received an MBA and a MSA in a duel masters program through Purdue and Indiana University finishing last fall, it was a 27 month program. He had to spend 20+ hours a week on top of his job and trying to race. Now that he can spend those extra hours on racing I think it is starting to show. If not for an electric window that locked up on us right before the final, who knows. I would also like to send congrats to Edmund and Austin Richardson. They gave us all the time we needed to get that window up and make a race out of it. Let's go to Norwalk next.

You should be a proud Dad, Drew is a fine young man and he did a very good job of driving at Indy! We need more young men like Drew in our sport!

Proud Dad, and rightfully so. Having juggled the full-time job/Master's program/racing myself, I know it's not easy. Deciding to sit out of racing while completing that program had to be a hard, but a great choice, and I'm sure it will pay dividends both professionally and in racing for a long time to come.
Congratulations Drew, Jim and the whole Whalen Motorsports team. The new combination looks like a good one! BTW, Drew has a pretty good teacher IIRC. Jim might have blinked a few win lights over the years. |
