If wheels are very old that could be a problem.Every time you have tires mounted the wheel changes very little but it does change.I have been mounting slicks for 35 years the older the wheels the easier the comeoff and go on.I use the spray permetex.Radials allways like more air than you would think.Dwight Allen

They were bought in early 1989 & have had many tires mounted on them.

Most everybody I know don't even check to see if the tires move. Just put the on and let them eat. Maybe I am just lucky idk. It might not be any big deal if they move a little bit.

My main concern is the tire/rim balance!

Well, we put 21 lbs. in them & the car ran it's fastest time in crappy air. I would go up another lb. but I was flirting with the red lights with 2 back to back .001 lights in time runs & .000 in the 1st round. Had to let some pressure out on all 4 tires. Looks like I'll be pulling 1 or 2 hundred rpm from the launch also.

Put screws on them and you'll be good to go whenever this happens

Not putting screws in & they aren't moving with 21 lbs. Plus, they are quicker/faster with the added pressure.
