Yes, We run a two step switch on our brake pedal on our stocker..

Pretty simple fix....
Just wire the 2 step thru a Normally Open micro switch that is located to be closed when the shifter in Low Gear.... The 2 step will only activate in low gear... If you use have to start your burn out in Low Gear just put the pressure switch in the rear brake hydraulic circuit...... Bob

Don't know if it's legal in stock classes but i use a momentary switch that I depress. I have a brake pressure switch and you have to hold the momentary switch for the 2 step to activate. Any time after launch I release the momentary switch and the 2 step doesn't activate if I get on the brakes down track. I had a toggle switch but it's easy to leave it on and have a stutter down track.
I have seen some mount a momentary switch on the brake pedal pad itself and only step on it during launch. |

You have a valid point. Mine has a toggle switch on far side of shifter. I can reach it while strapped in, as I have to activate it after the burnout... Yes, guess you could do it that way. I showed the setup to tech when I first put it in, and they were good with it. Been thru tech several times since in last few years, without any issue. Where mine is located, and they type of heavy duty metal toggle switch I am using, I would think it would be hard to be accurate with it. And would be really easy for anyone to see... no way to hide what I was doing, if I tried this. Guess that was part of them saying it was ok. Tech did make me show them how everything worked the first time. There are other(better) ways to do it, as Bob pointed out. Guess its all up to tech official. Ken Stock 412 |

Ours is on the brake pedal, but I have never got comfortable using it. Guess it just takes practice and persistence.

Good points Ken. And very good idea to have tech look at it in advance . I understand what you are saying about a slow, notchy, or inconsistent action on some switches or toggles.

We put our switch on the brake pedal. I really like it just from a comfort standpoint. If you look at the photo of the button on Rich Taylor's car, ours is just about in the same spot.
