Can anyone give me a lead on buying a mini alternator from a auto parts store instead of one of the high dollar ones that are advertised in Jegs and summit? What year and model should I ask for?

Mike here is something to consider. I was able to purchase an installation mounting kit along with their alternator for my 1968 camaro from powerhouse and they also pay contingency. You would probably have to fabricate brackets, pulleys and come up with a belt. If you have alot of time on our hands I'm sure it could be accomplished. Just my $.02.

Mike, just go ahead and buy the east coast super mini complete with brackets and belt. It works great, bolts right on and they pay contingency.

I'm looking at the full size 100 amp chrome alt on sale for $83 at Jegs with racer discount.
I have a auto store special on my Malibu now.Wont start charging till you hit about 3K rpm then comes up slowly.Supposedly Jegs has solved this problem. The other day for the first time I hooked up the delay box in the car.At idle with fuel pump, fan, water pump running.I get a low voltage warning from the D/box. |
