Be sure the impedance of the tank sender matches the range of the gauge you are going to use. I had a 0-90 sender and a 90-0 gauge. The gauge read backwards...

The rule says the cell must be isolated from the driver's compartment. That usually is a wall of some sort, so ask your local tech before cutting anything. There are smart people here, but it's still just a forum. Techs can bounce you at the gate and "Class Racer told me it's OK" won't float.
