Just left the divisional at Columbus... Final was heads up in Superstock with at least 2 other heads ups in the 3rd and 4th rounds...If you built a motor for the " Bracket " part of it ....you left early .

Yep, and oh by the way there were 82 cars there in SS. Not what I would call a dying class.

Glad it mattered that heads up runs occurred in the last few rounds..... and the winner was? by the way were the pairs of cars factored the same? or:? Despite the fact many reading this thread like to ignore that part on here I bet they wouldn't if they were in the situation.
Racing class is still the topic not Class racing which includes Eliminator and Class heads up racing. Good to see the numbers of interested Class racers continues. It should because there are lots of Pts. meets, and Stk SS meets where the dial in is still the important portion of their competitiveness. Last edited by Dick Butler; 07-27-2015 at 09:12 AM. |

Dick, Todd Frantz beat Brianna Kelly... One FI Combo , one carbureted in the final... BOTH cars had already had one heads up run on their way to the final, and made it past those. So 2 heads up races for the finalist...

They were both GT cars in the Super Stock final but they were different body styles. One was a front wheel drive conversion and one was originally rear wheel drive. I don't know either engine combination but even if they were the same, are you suggesting a "spec" body style as well? More specifically, all identical cars in the class in order to eliminate any aerodynamic advantage? Last edited by Rick Schilling; 07-27-2015 at 01:39 PM. Reason: Clarification |

Rick, yes there had been discussion of Mustang, Camaro, Charger,Challenger and no Jelly beans or wt break for Normal cars versus FWD had been discussed.
Motor was the starting point. Original idea was a lb/ cubic inch with specified Heads each model, limited crank, cam and springs to limit need for other exotic parts. Same carbs and manifold. Limit ignition, |

The roundy-round guys tried that and called it iroc...and it sucked big time! A whole crap load of identical cars and identical drivetrains...course you'd be happy dick, they were camaro's and they ran sbc's.
Crap, I just realised that by responding to this rediculous thread, it'll go back to the top and no doubt dick will once again re-iterate why the class is dying/no real racers anymore/doom/gloom Hey eeyore, turn that frown upside down. LOL! |
