Exclamation NHRA S/SS Racers Take Note

Do yourselves a favor and occationally check your combination in the guides! Every once in a while I have noticed that "someone" will make a change to the guides in order to "fix or bring in line" some combos. While just checking my combo out I noticed that after 20++ years my intake manifold # changed! For me it's not a problem as the #s have never been correct and (finally) I'd like to thank whoever fixed it. BUT, over the last few years I have seen correct HP. ratings changed to incorrect ratings, shipping wts. changed and some engine specs changed with no notification. I'm glad to see someone is looking to correct mistakes and keep things up to date but I can tell you from prior experience that if an incorrect change is made and it isn't promptly brought to NHRA's attention then it will be very difficult or impossible to get fixed and the racer may have to live with it.

Good post Billy. NHRA should post a weekly changes page on their Internet site. There are way too many "ghost" changes without oversight.

while they should keep on working on correcting things in the blueprint-section at NHRA all year i think they should only make and post that new updated specs bulletin one time a year (very late or very early)that would be fair for the racers!

Publishing the changes once a year is fair to all the racers? I don't think so!

Bruce;
Posting changes once a year sounds good,if you race once or twice a year.See you next year.

Ed

Billy,keep away from the class guide or we'll have to drop you off at the pig farm.

It came out wrong...i mean the changes would also not apply until then ofcourse! then you wouldn't have to worry about changing and/or buying new parts during the season!

Talking Re: NHRA S/SS Racers Take Note

Billy I didn't do it! Hell the changes were made way back in the spring......in fact it was after I talked to you about it....sooo...I thought you did it! I had the right intake too so guess all is good. Hey Billy did you also see that the 350/300 combo for 70 they changed the heads that are legal....when they made the change to our intake they also add the 462 heads to the 350/300 combo. anyway found out why the 250 wouldn't run with the 230....crank in the 250 is 20lbs heavier!!! NO SHIZNET! to the rest of ya guys reading this add 20lbs to the rotating mass of your engine & see how much quicker it runs! Billy take care I'll try to call ya one night next week. (mon or wed)
