How many grading points do you need to go to an IHRA national event, and how many months in advance do you have to send in your money?

Cool Re: Did we all catch this one? NHRA national event online registration changes for 20

michael i,m glad you live in the south east and can race ihra but for the other 2/3rds of the country it aint an option yea ihra had a shot in the midwest and just when we started getting people to try it they pulled out i quess you can say that was an ihra enhancement and most of us have real jobs that dont allow us to travel 10 hours to get to a race and it was a shame that they pulled out of the midwest because overall ihra races were fun and the people were great oh well it sucks to live in the frozen center of the country now i got all winter to get ready for my nhra enhancements

True, but it's also not 'never the answer' either. As customers of NHRA, when y'all have requests, you need to be able to communicate those needs effectively, and hope that they listen. The comparison/contrast was warranted in this case, I believe. Maybe they'll move the Sport Compact exhibitions out, and less sponsors will mean less hospitality tents in the pits... maybe they'll have room for more Sportsman racers.

Jeff - I agree with you. There was a big long fight of a thread regarding that on this forum, and IHRA didn't appreciate my opinions on that one (probably still don't/won't). After a one-year absence, it has taken time to rebuild any momentum that was once there. I feel double-headers could've saved them.
