Dearest Stockracer,
I run a combo that is not that popular. That is the point. There is no reason to get ourselves hp.If we are being combined w/the FI cars they are faster than us period! There are also more of them! It irritates me that there is no reason to put the combo in a position for hp. It's like a comp guy bombing the index on a redlight!!!! I have worked my *** off for the last five years to make my car fast. IT doesn't matter if it's 2 pounds or 200 pounds. It's the principal. It was most likely the convertible that did it. Heres the deal do the math. My car in M 13.15 index min 3040, his car in P 13.65 index 3280 min. 5 tenths for 240 pounds! Hello he doesn't have to make within 25 hp of me to hit the index. That is just irritating. There are plenty of F and G injected stick cars out there moving over. It just puts me at a little more of a disadvantage. That is why I am upset. If you own one of these combos and you did it, good job DONKEY if not stay out of it!! If you want to debate call me i'll be more than glad to talk!!!!

Eric, I don't have any Fords, but if you race long enough, yo ucan be the recipient of unfortunate hp gifts. It has happened to our car 3 times. It takes years to get that back. ( If ever) The Nitro stats show that only one car triggered and that was Sommers, but anyone over one second under at a National Event contributed towards keeping the family avg. more than a second under. That would be Sommers and you.
I don't show Dyer more than a second under.
Look at the bright side. I don't think that Dude with the Convertible is a P car anymore. Maybe you should come out to Indy and get him this year!

I understand I helped by going over a sec under. But I was smart enough to not set the trigger. With the air at the reading race I easily could have been in the 11's but added weight and backed it down to stay below. I was 100 pounds heavy and shortshifted to stay safe.It just drives me crazy to see this happen from someone else. I want to know where the two triggers were because that is what it takes, correct? If I was a B or H car etc it happens. A lot of heads ups there. Not in a class w/six of us where there is no need now, but will be w/FI cars coming over.Just venting Time to go back to making more hp I guess.
Eric
I know Keith I suppose I shouldn't complain about 3 hp but you know where I'm coming from.I love the analogy!!!!!

I would like to talk to you about your combo? I have a 85 mustang that i drive on the street with a 331 and I am thinking of turning it into a stocker, I have original heads, intake and carb. Is there a number that I can reach you?

Eric; Yes there are some fast lower class FI cars moving over, but FI cars are going to put a hurtin on most everyone in every class. Gary put this car together about 2 years ago and it is fast. He also just set the N-stick record in Reynolds last month. Stockracer does not have one of these combo, so you can debate all you want to with him, but your 1.084 under run helped the combo get HP. Dryer ran .927 under in M/S and .932 under in N/S. Also that Trance Baker listed in Nitro Joe's stat in O/S was driving Gary's car at the Bowling Green Pts. Meet. He went 1.025 under and that was the first time he had ever got behind the wheel of that car. J.Gower Stock 3058

Is there any kind of technical inspection before horsepower is given?
What if some of these combinations were on the juice?
