Are seat braces required(back of seat to roll bar)?

It is if you have aftermarket seats. My seat back is right against the roll bar cross bar so I just bolted the seat to the crossbar with a 1/2 inch bolt. If there is a space then you will need some sort of spacer like a piece of tubing with a flat plate to bolt to the seat and welded to the crossbar

I haven't checked the rule book but I was told at Bristol that mine(stock seat) needed to be braced. Mine is normally all the way back anyway so I guess it had never been noticed before but on this occasion it was up a little and caught the tech inspectors eye.
