according to the nhra rule book,it states that the front suspension must retain all stock compontes as produced, see gen rule 3:4 mentions the use of heim joints,my question is any one who runs a ford/amc stocker with the sturt rod set up,will it pass tech if the strut rod bushing is converted to a heim or any other type of non factory bushing gmonde

Heims have been acceptable on the strut rods on the AMC's in Super Stock, as are heims on the tie rods. ..... They are Not legal in Stock eliminator. .... I have built cars for both classes, for the Stock application, I use a solid aluminum spacer on the compression side of the bushing, with a thin urethane bushing sandwiched between it and the bracket. ........ You can pick up a lot of header clearance on the SS deal with the heims. .........I've seen no difference in the cars when staging or handling down track with either setup. ......Tom
