Does anyone know why there was a change to the Stock ladder this morning prior to first round?

Best guess, it was changed to remove anyone who was bounced in Tech. Also heard that at least one driver officially "withdrew" from the event, which would be different from simply being a no show. Haven't heard any of this officially, but that's my guess. Also, happy to see some of the alternates get in, especially Ben Wenzel's '67 Z-28. Wouldn't be Indy without that car in the eliminator. |

Lew, where did you see that there was a change in the ladder ? Numerous alternates got in due to breakage or other problems. Interesting that one of the Emmons got in as an alternate and had to run his opponent Heads Up. Nothing like heading to the lanes and not being prepared for a Heads Up run. ....M.J.

In my limited experience, once the ladder is set, anyone who is unable to "make the call" is listed as a "No Show" and their scheduled opponent is given a competition single.

Not this time...... Jimmy D was supposed to run the Hill's but ran against a V/SA Alternate. There were no competition singles posted at all.

No-shows only happen when there are no alternates available!

Thank you for the clarifications! Makes much more sense the way you've explained it!

Lew, it's Indy and the alternates are waiting at the end of the staging lanes . If a scheduled opponent does not show up an official places an alternate in his or her place. There are No competition singles when an alternate is available. M.J.
