The Make A Wish donations are already coming in. We are well on our way to our $7,000 goal...incredible!

In addition to the normal payout, we have some other sponsors that are getting involved with some financial incentives:

-Terry Grosz is offering $100 for anyone that wins with a stick.

-Rob Angland from A&A Cycle in Watertown, S.D. is putting up $100 for anyone that wins with a station wagon.

-Long time Thunder Valley and NHRA Division 5 starter Marv Lovro sweetened the pot by offering $100 to the winner of Sundays race.

-Bill Fiest's 'Wild Bill's Perfectly Strange Award' offers $100 to the first racer that runs exactly on his or her dial in with a zero on a winning run (example: 10.500 on a 10.50 dial in). This is for both Saturday and Sunday races.

-On Sunday, Bill Wittstruck will be distributing gifts donated by various Mitchell, S.D. businesses to racers chosen by random drawing.

We also wish to thank our associate event sponsor for Saturday, H&R Salvage, for their generosity and support. On Sunday, the associate event sponsor is Selland Trucking, also from the racing town of Mitchell, S.D.

More to come as we get closer.

Some quick results from Saturday's race. With 64 cars, the final came down to Ramsey, Minnesota's Jason DeForrest in his GT/CA Camaro and Watertown, South Dakota's Doug Engles in his '66 Corvette SS/HA. Jason got the win...his third MCR win this season!

I wasn't there due to a family function, so thanks to Mark Verba for posting qualifying sheets and the final round photo on the MCR Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/groups/1544371742488480/

Some of the Make A Wish kids enjoying their day at the races. All the kids got to make a 'pass' in their favorite car during the parade pass before eliminations. The big smiles say it all! Thanks to Liz Meeks for these shots:

Congratulations to Jason and to Doug also. Those two are definitely two of the best.
It was great to meet some of the kids when they were going though the pits. I hope a lot of money was raised to help Make a Wish.
Also thank you Al,Mark, and Liz for sharing the pictures with us.

62 cars for Sunday's race. The winner was Pappilion, Nebraska's Paul Merolla in his E/S '66 Nova over Bell Fourche South Dakota's Bob Swan in his C/SA 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang.

A bit of trivia....Paul's Nova build is documented here under the Class Racer Build section. Bob's GT500 is a real-deal original Shelby.

Photo credit to Tim McVay...thanks, Tim!

Thank You - Thank You - Thank you

Our 2cnd annual Race For Wishes was HUGE success thanks to a lot of people helping.

Watertown Ford Chysler Thank You for being title sponsor.
Thunder Valley Dragways Thank You for being or host track.
Midwest Class Racers Thank you for a lot of dedicated hard working racers who made this race happen.
Kelly's Kitchen Thank You for the meals you provided to the Make A Wish people.

Our goal was to have a great race and raise enough $ to fund a wish ($7000) we did both with sum very generous donations from a lot of racers (S/SS and Bracket racers)

And the finale Thank You goes out to sum very special children who have been through more then most of us can imagine! You warmed our hearts with your smiles & laughter - This race was special in many ways but the Make A Wish children where the real Stars of this show!
