After First record pass in SS/CA engine/ carbs/ heads were marked.
Fuel and weight were checked after every subsequent pass for the record class. The only difference for SS/CA (3355lbs min) and SS/DA (3585# min) was the weights, so either I passed and had both records or…… And as Jeff already posted, I had to withdraw from SS/CA and Re-enter (new tech card) for SS/DA and run the event in that class. I pulled it apart Friday morning as the air hadn't gotten any better and my only purpose there was the records. I had planned for better air, but, the air I did have made the records doable. The Hemi "Valve Cover" bolt hole on the intake face that caused a lot of drama a few years back…. ![]() I would like to thank Ray, David and all the guys at Ray Barton Racing Engines for all there help! We may be leaving a little on the table with the "legal" head, but thats the way they fly there. First Class!! |
