Ed, If you read the whole release it shows classes aren't finalized yet, thus the NA.

Hard to believe only 65 stockers at E Town...WOW, there will be quite a few of disappointed D 1 guys and gals, ....With theses quotas grade points will really become more important. You know, NHRA is one of the few businesses that just flat out .......turns $$$$$$ away. .??

Forcing people to go to more divisionals. Probably trying to make it where you need 3 or 4 points to get in.

I'm actually not surprised, with space at a premium people continue to buy 100' rigs to haul one car.

Good luck getting grade points if you live in south Florida. The closest NHRA track from my house is 310 miles, the next is 550 miles. NHRA has lost Florida, I'm surprised that they will still have a points race at Gainesville. Why go if you can't race at any national events.

You know, there was a time when Division 2 was for all intents and purposes the Florida division. All the races except the Bristol national event were in Florida or Georgia, and all Atlanta or south of there. If you lived in Tennessee, North Carolina, or South Carolina, you were pretty much screwed. Not only did you live in Division 2, you lived in a state that did not have a Division 2 event, and you had to spend most of the month of March in Florida in order to compete in your home division.

It seems all they (NHRA) know how to do is go from one extreme to the other. I'll never understand it.

They're not forcing jack. I was a satisfied customer for a couple of years, and then they started laying straws on the camel's back at a surprisingly rapid rate. I'll spend my money elsewhere. Big money bracket racing provides live video coverage, and you can often get six shots at $5,000, $10,000, or even $20,000 in three days. The various regional S/SS Series provide a great bang for the buck and a 1-day or 2-day format for those "off" weekends.

If My Math Is Correct 55 car fields also are only 5 round races with a bye round 1 and at 7 cars Math is not my strongest point
6-round races. And you get to blow 4-5 days of your life for the privilege for 1 shot. For those that are chasing their first Wally, or just like the tailgating atmosphere, I get it. That's just not for me anymore.
