Ron, Sounds like you could leave at a dead idle in a good Super Street car!
Of course you'd be the only one in the world doing that ;-)

Thanks Cooter, I totally understand. Beware though, there are plenty of similar individuals out there that drag innocent people into the depths of night with a variety of beverages and festivities.

I too have been captured on occasion.

Heck Mark I used to count the tree down with the old incandescent bulbs and did ok, but it was kind of hitting it between coming on and on. It was actually a pain. When they came out with the LEDs it took a long time before I could adjust my head to where I needed to be. I tried it from an idle and just couldn't cut it, was all over the place. I do have one constant though and that is my car just takes off, no 1/4 revolution, no spin, it just leaves, hence the 1.90 60' I wouldn't know what to do in a Super Street car. I saw that they actually lift the wheels off the ground.

Did I get that right?
There are those who can hit the tree consistently shallow they have natural ability OR they have trained themselves OR they have worked on their cars. DEEP gives the slow guys the ability to have consistently quicker reaction times OR not to have to work on their cars.

Deep staging isn't a crutch that makes killers out of lazy, unskilled racers. The same guys are going to win, shallow or deep.

I have never been a deep stager; I'm just sensitive to general ignorance and idiocy.

Which begs the question. Why do they need to deep stage if they are going to win either way? This thread highlights the confusion and frustration surrounding deep staging and the very reason it was banned and will never be allowed again in Stock and Super Stock.
