I need a little help.I'm building the U/SA 79 mustang on the build page. I have a late 60s, 26 spline input, C4 trans that im building for the car. I want to put a low 1st gear set in the tranny and am having a hard time locating new set.Does anyone have a line on who carries them?
Thanks Robbie |

Your first call should be to Joel's on Joy. He can probably set you up. However, Pro Trans does make various gear sets for the C4, but your wallet will really feel it. Performance Automatic might have something too. The most common ratio is 2.75, but I know you can get a 2.9x something from Pro Trans.

Robbie-26 spline transmission's were built from 1970 to 79ish C4's built in the 60's were 24 spline. ACT transmission.com has low gear sets-FYI I don't run one in my car and it runs pretty well. Brian 627stk

Dynamic has them, or you can get them from Lyon's (made by dynamic).

One more thing. If you want to go super light, you can get aluminum drums here for a very good price.

Thanks for the help. Got some good leads. I will recount the splines just to be sure.

I ran the numbers and re counted the splines. It's a 1968 C4 with 24 splines. It was a good back up trans, now it's time to build it!
