Having just been through the approval process for parts, I suggest you contact Len Imbrogno, Wesley Roberson, and probably Bob Lang. You should also be aware that the manufacturer of the component must submit the part and the supporting documentation. And yes, the manufacturer will almost surely require you to buy the part they submit. Be prepared to spend money, make phone calls, send emails, be frustrated, and wait.
