I liked it better in the '60s when we ran off records. The faster cars had an advantage, which I personally believe they should. Work your tail off to be faster should be worth something. ET brackets came along, and the slow guys went there. Car counts dropped dramatically. They pushed the easy button. Not everybody could run their class records. I won Stock at the one & only race at Corpus Christie (sp?) Texas, running a tenth off the record. I was the fast car there that afternoon.

When I started trying to do this again a few years ago, some of those guys are back.

It is way too much like a bracket race now.
